<p>Be different enough&#8230;</p>
<p>Often I hear a store name or business moniker that just sounds like every other business. Those monikers don&#8217;t grab attention, they don&#8217;t get attention, and they lack the originality to be recognizable online or offline. They simply drone on without being identifiable.</p>
<p>Dare to be different.  Be original enough to capture something more than a name like everyone else&#8217;s. Design a unique logo for your unique business name. Capture attention.</p>
<p>Be concise enough&#8230;</p>
<p>Long monikers lose interest of the reader before they get done. At most, three word names are the most you should ever have. A name that lingers on for more than three words, bores the reader. Shorten that name and get memorable.</p>

<p>There&#8217;s plenty of overzealous sales folks out there in green polka dot ties and over-sized red shoes! Give the clown marketing principles back to the used car dealers and take pride in your work.<span id="more-35"></span></p>
<p>Copywriting is one of the highest paid positions in business and can make you a valuable income if you provide high-quality copy for your clients. Why would you want to provide less?</p>
<p>I&#8217;m astounded at the number of lackadaisical articles that just don&#8217;t quite measure up, coming from well known authors who could do so much better. But than I sound like a judgmental word hound. Perhaps, I am.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve heard it said, &#8220;They wrote Fannie Hill in 1942 and nothing new has happened since.&#8221; I&#8217;m not sure I&#8217;d go that far, and I honestly don&#8217;t recall when Fannie Hill was written, but quite honestly, there isn&#8217;t much NEW stuff out there. Getting a fresh idea, doesn&#8217;t have to mean you recreate words (although I do that), or that you can&#8217;t imitate someone else (I do that too), or even that you have to have the first original idea to be &#8216;in the running&#8217;. You don&#8217;t. But something has to be fresh.</p>
<p>A new twist, a bright color, a feeling or emotion placed with an old idea often brings an ad or a report to life. Give some soul to your work, put some feeling into it. Pack a punch with emotion!</p>
<p>If you can&#8217;t feel what you&#8217;re writing, your reader won&#8217;t feel it either.</p>
<p>The most interesting ads I read are the ones that capture me, because I know the writer put some effort into them. I can recognize the writer behind the ad.</p>
<p>Not too long ago, I was talking to a friend who writes business articles along the same lines as mine. She had submitted an article for publication and the publisher said, &#8220;This sounds like Jan Verhoeff.&#8221; What an incredible compliment to me! I was surprised that the publisher compared another writer to my tone, but I was thrilled that she recognized my voice strongly enough to do so. Whether you write articles yourself or hire them written for you, the articles you present should have a flavor responding to your tone and voice. The ability of any writer to create information that gives a specific tone, means they capture the voice presented. This is a professional ghost writing tactic that works well in copywriting. Copywriters implicate the voice of the seller while using their own style.</p>
<p>When providing content via articles for the internet, do you maintain a recognizable voice? Will your voice capture an audience? Can you bring them back for more?</p>

<p> Simple effective Branding can happen on any product, decadent or not. The point is making your mark and sticking to it.</p>
<p>A few weeks ago I noticed a trend in our local area. Small business centers are popping up all over the map, leaving intrusive brand identifications for the world to remember them by. Road signs suddenly have the markings of a local business hanging from their platform, and sign posts sport regal looking placards with numbers attached. These NEW businesses aren&#8217;t sprouting up from no where, but that may be their end in a few months, if they don&#8217;t somehow find ways to be recognized on non-disposable signs.</p>
<p>How can a water soluble sign become decadent? And is it possible to Brand Your Market with a sign that will be gone in two weeks due to weather errosion?</p>
<p>As goshe as this may sound, I&#8217;d like to think so!</p>
<p>Teetering on senility, I allowed a client/associate to try the same techniques with my business, but I decided to try something just a bit different. More decadent? You decide&#8230;</p>
<p> A local restaurant has old fashioned tab curtains at the windows and I&#8217;ve noticed curtains with words all over them in various places. So, I made some tab curtains and stamped my website, along with the name of the cafe, and various other business names (to whom I had sold <a target="_blank" href="http://advertizeyourbusiness.com">advertizing</a> space) in various fonts all over the new curtains. I took those curtains to the cafe and offered to hang the new curtains for them. The new curtains add color and spunk to the cafe windows, and I got paid to post the advertizing names on the curtains. It didn&#8217;t cost me a thing to make the curtains, because the advertizers paid for the fabric and my time.</p>
<p>The result: I&#8217;ve had more than 100 new sign-ups on my website from my home town area and more than that per week in visitors to the site. All the paper on lightpoles in the world can&#8217;t beat curtains scrawled with <a href="http://www.coffeeclatter.com/">www.coffeeclatter.com</a> in the window.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m lovin&#8217; it!</p>
